“Insomnia (from flower to flower)”. Letter of Henry Cadicamo, 1938.

Although you pretend
me stray from your path;
but leave me alone
I have always loving;
although my Jealousy
live full of sleepless nights
thinking that very soon
Keep thee far from me,
Like… As I adore you,
I cry and I implore you
with mad desire.
In the immense sadness
of my desolation,
my bad elves
I will bite the heart.

While your inconstancy cornered me
and nailed me
like a dagger,
in the sad hours of my insomnia
my poor eyes
I can not close.
Dim mirrors
my melancholy,
all our love
arise from those days…
Floating in the fourth round your figure,
and then, laughing, you stop next to me
to kiss with your mouth mysterious
your mouth delicious
your lipstick kiss.
Until I am surprised at last
crazy tired and sleepless.

Just… alone and sad
I know that you do not exist…
The night is long
always thinking of you.
And both ansiarte
unwittingly assaults me crying;
silent crying
constantly springing…
A cry my eyes,
sleepless and red
not anymore.
And in this drama mine
I sink without mercy.
Stand, heart,
no more loneliness overwhelm.
